Virtual Industry Forum
The MDTA is working to quickly assemble the best team possible to rebuild the Key Bridge.
The forum included a presentation from MDTA and staff was available to answer questions about the Progressive Design–Build (PDB) project delivery method, procurement process, and DBE opportunities and certification.
All forum materials, including questions and answers, were posted to the website following the virtual event. Questions were limited to the upcoming procurement opportunity only.
Purpose of the Key Bridge Rebuild Virtual Industry Forum:
- To inform industry professionals and discuss the anticipated Progressive Design-Build (PDB) procurement and subsequent delivery of the Key Bridge Rebuild.
- To inform MBE, DBE, WBE, VSBE and small businesses that are interested in obtaining their MD DBE certification about available partnering opportunities.
- To collect input from the industry to inform the upcoming PDB Request for Proposals (RFP).
We discussed:
- general background information related to the project and initiatives that are underway,
- project delivery method (Progressive Design-Build),
- procurement process and anticipated schedule, and
- DBE opportunities and how to get certified.
The Virtual Industry Forum was recorded and posted to this website along with a summary of questions received and responses.
Participating in this Virtual Industry Forum is not a pre-requisite to participating in a future procurement process. Participants will not have any preference, special designation, advantage or disadvantage whatsoever in any subsequent procurement process to the project.
